Cyprus in alliance talks

Cyprus Airways says it is in talks to possibly join a global alliance in “a year or so”. It currently has the closest ties to SkyTeam carriers, including Alitalia and KLM. In a bid to stem losses, which reached C£34 million ($76 million) in 2004, Cyprus Airways is undertaking a major restructuring effort. The European Commission authorised a rescue package for the airline earlier this year.
