Delta Air Lines has reached an agreement with its pilots' union which, if ratified, will enable the carrier to resume taking delivery of Boeing 777s.

The airline delayed deliveries of the 777 earlier this year, after two had been handed over, because it had not agreed pay scales for flying the aircraft. The agreement, which requires approval by the pilots, sets pay rates of $250/h for the 777 and $230/h for the 767-400ER,deliveries of which are to begin next year. Delta says it will move quickly to agree delivery dates with Boeing for the 11 777s still on order if the deal is approved.
