Delta Air Lines has reached a tentative deal with a union representing about 12,800 pilots.
The agreement in principle on 30 September ends a months-long negotiating process with the Air Line Pilots Association International (ALPA) that drew assistance from the National Mediation Board.
ALPA’s Master Executive Council at Delta now has until 7 October to review the agreement. If the MEC approves, the agreement will be sent to Delta pilots for a vote on ratification.
“This agreement achieves the goal of advancing the profession while raising the bar for all airline industry pilots,” John Malone, Delta MEC chairman, wrote in a statement.
Pilots for the SkyTeam alliance carrier rejected a tentative agreement in July 2015, which was five months before the contract with Delta became amendable.
