Following a hard-fought battle to secure the maintenance contract for easyJet’s Airbus A319 fleet, including a threat to take the work to eastern Europe, the carrier has opted to retain the services of SR Technics with a 10-year contract. The deal is valued at around $1 billion and provides a reduction in maintenance costs of over 25% over the term of the contract. By 2008 easyJet plans to have a fleet of 120 A319s.
