Honeywell has added BlackBerry email to its OneLink range of Inmarsat satcoms-based communications services.

The new offering – Honeywell calls it the In-Flight Messaging Service – provides email and Internet connectivity in flight via a WiFi-enabled BlackBerry, an onboard wireless router and an Inmarsat Swift 64 (64kbit/sec) or SwiftBroadband (432kbit/sec) terminal.

The service is designed to support always-on access to email and the Internet in the aircraft, both on the ground and throughout the flight. Users will be charged only for data sent and received.
