EADS sister companies Airbus Corporate Jets and Eurocopter are sharing a stand [7040] for the first time at EBACE as a sign of closer co-operation between the two airframers in the private aviation segment.
Frederic Lemos, business and private aviation market development manager at Eurocopter, says the two companies see synergies between their operations: "We are sharing our knowledge of the clients, the way we see the market and the way we want to target it. There is a clear link between business jet customers and VIP helicopter customers."
Lemos believes purchasers of airliner-derived business aircraft, such as the Airbus ACJ range, will also have a requirement for VIP-configured rotorcraft.
"We see our products as the perfect complement to the ACJ range," he adds. "Equally, we may have customers who intend to buy a business jet and are not familiar with the Airbus products, so we try to orientate them towards the ACJ."
