Insurance broker FinServe Aviation Insurance has created a new class of policy for business aviation owners and operators, covering what it claims is a broader range of risks than a standard policy.
Called FinServe European Business Aviation Placement (F-EBAP), it can include clauses that cover issues such as premises and hangar keeper's liability, material and equipment used around the aircraft, general aviation liability and spare parts insurance.
In general, standalone insurance policies for each of these items can be quite costly, said FinServe, but with F-EBAP these clauses are added at almost no additional premium, subject to a certain number of aircraft being insured and the operator meeting quality standards.
Guy Broddin, chief executive of FinServe said: "We thought it was necessary to launch a programme that is more compliant with the full range of needs of business aircraft operators."
