Lufthansa has signed a 10-year agreement to buy AlliedSignal enhanced ground proximity warning systems (EGPWS) for its aircraft and those of its subsidiaries. The deal covers the initial purchase of 175 systems for its fleet, including that of Lufthansa Cargo, but is expected to grow to cover at least 400 aircraft through new aircraft and extension to Lufthansa subsidiary carriers. The agreement includes system improvements and terrain database updates.
