Northrop Grumman has won a $15.8-million order from the US Air Force Warner Roberts Logistics Center to provide 16 AN/ALQ-131 Block II systems to the Royal Norwegian Air Force, it was announced at the show.

The AN/ALQ-131 Block II is an advanced electronic countermeasures pod that provides programmed jamming responses to counter detected enemy radars. The Block II upgrade provides improved performance, reliability and maintainability, says the company. "In today's era of reduced defence budgets, the AN/ALQ-131 Block II conversion offers international customers with a cost-effective method to acquire its capabilities, ensuring compatibility with the US Air Force," says Bill Ober, vice president of Northrop Grumman's Electronic Warfare Programs.

The Airports Authority of India has selected Northrop Grumman and Bharat Electronics of India to produce and install four air traffic control systems to support en-route operations on critical air routes in India.
