Elbit Systems' Elop subsidiary has been awarded a follow-on contract to supply Digital Compass (DCompass) electro-optical sensor payloads to an undisclosed air force in the Asia-Pacific region. Valued at $33 million, the contract – which covers the installation of the system on helicopters – will be fulfilled over a three-year period.
Elop general manager Adi Dar says the repeat order "reflects the customer’s satisfaction from the systems acquired a number of years ago".
DCompass is a low-weight, stabilised multi-sensor system, suitable for integration with fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, as well as land and naval platforms. It can be used to support intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance tasks by day or night, and in bad weather conditions, the Israeli company says.
