BASKING IN POSITIVE REACTIONS from potential buyers viewing the EMB-145 regional jet on its US tour, Embraer has yet to announce substantial progress on the North American sales front. Firm orders now stand at 28 aircraft. The 50-seater is the front runner for an initial 25-aircraft order from US regional Continental Express, expected to be announced by the middle of the year and which could include more than 100 options. Caribbean-based BWIA International Airlines, meanwhile, has dropped its commitment for ten EMB-145s.
