Eurocopter has sold a pair of EC155Bmedium twin helicopters to private operators in Malaysia. The Sultan of the Malaysian state of Pahang will take delivery of one of the aircraft in May, while VIP operator YTL is purchasing a single example of the type, say industry sources.

Eurocopter confirms it has sold two EC155Bs in Malaysia, but declines to reveal the identity of the buyers. YTL operates a single AS365N2 Dauphin, from which the EC155B is developed.

The first sale of the EC155Bin the Asia-Pacific was made to Hong Kong's Government Flying Services, which ordered five, in addition to three AS332L2 Super Puma MkIIs. All eight helicopters are to be delivered later this year and in 2002.
