American Eurocopter revealed a number of orders at the HAI show, including the first EC155 sale in the USA, made to Fred Drasner, co-chairman of US News & World Report.
The European concern also announced the sale of two EC120s to the San Bernadino County Sheriff's Department, which will be the first to use the helicopter for law enforcement in the USA. The Maryland State Police Aviation division also becomes the first US customer to order the AS365N3 upgrade, covering retrofit of Turboméca's Arriel 2C in place of the original 1C1 engines, and the addition of a digital engine control unit. The Los Angeles Police Department also ordered eight AS350B2 helicopters. The first will be delivered by April.
Neighbouring Riverside County Sheriff's Department has ordered two AS350B3s equipped with the Arriel 2B engine.
Other sales include an EC120 to Liberty Helicopters of Linden, New Jersey.
