UK business aviation services provider Eurojet Aviation has opened a £5 million ($7.69 million) business aviation facility at Birmingham airport and hopes to expand the Eurojet network "when opportunities arise".
Eurojet's new 41,000ft² (3,800m²) facility houses fixed-base operations, a commercial operations centre, an aircraft sales suite and a Cessna Citation service centre.
The company, in its 25th year, also has two facilities in Belfast. It is looking at similar ventures across Europe but remains tight-lipped about its acquisition strategy.
"We are looking out for new opportunities," says Eurojet managing director Graeme Campbell. "This is a natural aspiration. Our objective has always been to build and enhance our offering for existing and potential customers."
Eurojet operates a fleet of eight managed Citation business jets, including a midsize Sovereign, superlight XLS and light cabin Bravo. About three quarters of its business is contract charter, which Campbell says "helps to protect the company from the vagaries" of the volatile ad hoc charter market.
"The contract market gives us stability," he adds. "While we value the ad hoc charter business, we are keen to expand our share of the enduring contract market."
