EUROPA AVIATION of the UK has sold more than 50 of its Europa two-seat kitplanes to US customers since introducing the aircraft to the North American market 12 months ago at the 1995 Sun 'n Fun exhibition.

The company has set up a US distributors' office in Lakeland, Florida, to handle US sales. Worldwide, it has sold more than 310 kits to customers in 25 countries, including Brazil and Colombia.

To coincide with the 1995 US launch Europa, introduced a nose-wheel version, which it thought would have more appeal in the USA. The vast majority of US orders have been for the traditional mono-wheel version, however.

The company displayed a nose-wheel-equipped aircraft at this year's Sun 'n Fun.
