Czech general aviation aircraft manufacturer Evektor has clinched European approval for its SportStar RTC light sport aircraft (LSA).
The two-seat, single-engined metal aircraft is a derivative of the Kunovice-based airframer's Harmony very light aircraft and is targeted at flight schools, aeroclubs and private pilots.
In 2005, the SportStar RTC became the first aircraft to be certificated under the US Federal Aviation Administration's special-LSA category.
It has since "become one of the best-selling two-seat aircraft for basic flight training in the USA, Australia and other countries", says Evektor.
Deliveries to customers in Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Turkey are imminent, it adds.
