David Ivry has been appointed president of Boeing Israel as part of the US manufacturer's efforts to boost its presence in the country.

Ivry was the Israeli ambassador to the USA from 2000 to 2002. He has also held a variety of government and industry posts, including Israel's national security adviser and head of the National Security Council; director general of the ministry of defence; chairman of Israel Aircraft Industries; commander of the Israeli air force; and board member of Israeli flag carrier El Al. Ivry will support Boeing business-unit sales and marketing teams in Israel.
