Knuckey promoted to Flybe finance post

UK low-fares carrier Flybe has promoted Andrew Knuckey to the positions of chief financial officer and deputy chief executive officer.

He will succeed Chris Simpson who joined Flybe in 2003 but requested to stand down from the role for personal reasons once a successor had been identified.

Knuckey joined Flybe in 2005 from a large UK building firm where he was finance director. Prior to that he spent 24 years at accountancy firm KPMG where he specialised in transaction and advisory services to businesses and handled a number of public offerings. At Flybe, he played a key role in the successful completion of the BA Connect deal.

Flybe was planning an initial public offering this year but with the BA Connect acquisition to digest is now planning to float between early 2008 and 2009.

Flybe has also announced that Knuckey, chief commercial officer Mike Rutter, and chief operating officer Andrew Strong have been appointed to the group board.
