ATR's has gained US certification for its -600 series turboprops.
The EADS-Alenia Aermacchi joint venture's ATR 42-600 and 72-600 feature "glass cockpit" avionics. Their flightdeck systems were validated by test pilots from the Federal Aviation Administration, which also had access to the results of trials carried out by the European Aviation Safety Agency, says the manufacturer. EASA had certificated the 72-600 and 42-600 by May 2011 and June 2012, respectively.
Flightglobal's Ascend Online database lists 68 of the -600 series aircraft in service. There are 210 on firm order.
