Japanese start-up carrier Fair Inc has won Japan Civil Aviation Bureau approval to launch services with regional jets, and becomes the third new airline to win an operating licence after deregulation of the industry. Fair Inc plans to launch services with Bombardier CRJs from 7 August between Sendai and Osaka's Kansai airport.

Boeing remains hesitant to jump headlong into developing hydrogen-powered aircraft due to safety and technical challenges, despite widespread calls for aircraft developers to roll out clean-burning designs as quickly as possible.
While Embraer has so far not announced any commercial jets orders at this year’s Farnborough air show, chief executive Arjan Meijer says there are numerous deals in the pipeline for at least 300 aircraft.
