Messier Services, part of Safran group, has won a seven-year contract from Virgin Atlantic Airways to complete landing gear overhauls for the airline's fleet of 19 Airbus A340-600 aircraft. The maintenance programme will be conducted from April 2010 to 2017. Messier Services France will perform the work at its Molshein facility.
Messier Services has also a contract from UK-based Thomas Cook Airlines to support the airline's Airbus A320 family landing gear. The agreement covers landing gear exchange and overhaul for an additional 23 A320 and A321s. The company now supports the landing gear overhaul of the entire Airbus fleet of Thomas Cook UK, Scandinavia and Belgium, including A320 family and A330 aircraft.
The overhauls have already begun and will continue until 2017. Messier Services France is performing the A330 maintenance, while Messier Services UK is taking care of the A320 family overhauls.
