Parker Aerospace, a business segment of Parker Hannifin, has won a design-and-make contract for the main landing gear hydraulic fluid conveyance system for the Airbus A350 XWB airliner from landing gear supplier Messier-Dowty, part of the Safran group.
The system uses the Parker Aerospace Stratoflex Products Division's 5,000-psi technology for different fluid conveyance components such as swivel joints, quick disconnects, rigid tubes and flexible hoses. Stratoflex will provide new flexible hose technology to enhance service life through the landing gear hydraulic dressing system's life.
This contract, which Parker values at "several million dollars" is the second collaboration between Messier-Dowty and Parker Aerospace, following an earlier A400M landing gear fluid conveyance design-and-make programme. Earl Larkin, Stratoflex Products Division's director of business development and contracts, says: "Parker is honoured to have been chosen to provide the main landing gear hydraulic dressing system for the A350 XWB. We look forward to building a strong partnership with Messier-Dowty in support of this state-of-the-art aircraft."
