Stein Seal UK has been chosen to supply carbon seals to Rolls-Royce for the Trent XWB engine.
It will design and manufacture main shaft seals for two positions in the engine, says Stein Seal UK.
Besides Rolls-Royce, the company has supplied parts to other engine manufacturers such as General Electric and Pratt & Whitney.
"As an early member of the Trent XWB team, Stein Seal has assisted with the instrumentation to help Rolls-Royce and Stein Seal engineering better understand the air flows and conditions around the seals," says Stein Seal UK.
