Paris’s airport operator plans to bring the 12 fixed-base operators at Le Bourget together in a new building under plans to cement its position as Europe’s busiest business aviation airport.
Aéroports de Paris (ADP) last week unveiled plans for a E4 million ($4.68 million) investment in the new business aviation terminal at the north-west Paris airport. Belgium’s Flying Group will be the first tenant.
The new 3,200m2 (34,500ft2) terminal is on the site of a disused building at the entrance to a complex of over 100 hangars and has room to house existing FBOs under one roof, says Michel De Ronne, general aviation airports director for ADP. The building is being renovated and will open next April. It has apron space for 60 aircraft.
Pierre Graff, ADP managing director, says: “We polled our clients and one point came up several times – ground services were lacking.” Since the scheduled passenger terminal was closed, FBOs have grown around the airport fringes, confusing users, he says.
