Embraer has clinched the first sale to Mexico of a Lineage 1000 business jet following an order for the ultra-large aircraft from health products and services company Omnilife de México. The $41 million aircraft, a derivative of the E-190 regional jet, will be operated by its air-taxi subsidiary Omnifly following its delivery in December 2009.

"The introduction of the Lineage 1000 to the Mexican market is a very important milestone, as the country has one of the largest business jet fleets in the world," says Luís Carlos Affonso, Embraer executive vice-president, executive jets.

"Embraer's presence is growing in Mexico. The company's long-term vision is to serve customers with products that span the market, offering luxurious jets with premium comfort and outstanding performance."

The Lineage 1000 is the fourth and the largest member of Embraer's executive jet portfolio, and is expected to enter service in mid-2008.
