US regional airline company SkyWest Inc has placed a firm order for nine Embraer 175 regional jets, which SkyWest Airlines will operate under contract for Delta Air Lines.
Embraer will deliver five aircraft in the first half of 2019, with the remaining four in 2020, SkyWest says.
The deal has a list price value of $422 million, says Embraer.
SkyWest will operate the E175s for Delta under a nine-year contract. The aircraft will replace nine Bombardier CRJ900s that the regional carrier operates for Delta, SkyWest says.
The company will return four of those CRJ900s to lessors, and lease the remaining five to Air Canada, says SkyWest.
Embraer says the nine E175 orders were already included in its fourth quarter 2018 aircraft backlog figures.
SkyWest has placed orders for 158 E175s since 2013.
