Middle Eastern low-cost carrier FlyDubai has secured $320 million financing from lessor GECAS through the sale and leaseback of four Boeing 737-800 aircraft to be delivered this year.
The sale and leaseback agreement covers two aircraft due for delivery in July, one in October and the final aircraft in December.
FlyDubai, which has already received two aircraft in May and June, says this is the first financing it has secured from outside the United Arab Emirates.
It began services about a month ago to local destinations. The carrier has 50 737-800s on firm order with Boeing.
