A fourth-year aeronautical engineering student at the UK's Bristol University has won Flight International's Future of Flight essay competition. William Robinson, 21, will travel to next month's first flight centennial celebrations in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, courtesy of sponsor Rolls-Royce, after penning a 1,500-word article entitled The Future of Civil Air Transport. Robinson hopes to work on failures and accident investigation with Airbus or R-R after taking a year out after graduating. His winning entry, chosen by judges including Royal Aeronautical Society president Sir Peter Norriss, will appear in our 16 December issue. Daniel Mueller of Embry-Riddle University and Chris Daw of the Welsh Development Agency were runners-up.
