Blasting into Hong Kong today is Hawker Beechcraft with orders for 16 aircraft worth $224m. The orders cover a newly certified Hawker 900XP and an Hawker 850XP for Hainan Airlines subsidiary Deer Jet.
Macanese operator Jet Asia has ordered four Hawker 900XPs and four Hawker 750s in support of the Sociedade de Jogos de Macau casino company. And Hawker Beechcraft’s newly appointed China, Hong Kong and Macau sales representative Avion Pacific is taking two Hawker 4000s, two Hawker 900XPs and two Hawker 750s.
Hawker Beechcraft’s president of Commercial Sales Brad Hatt says: “The Hawker has always been synonymous with quality, performance and value. China is a growing market with a burgeoning economy. As Chinese customers become more familiar with the Hawker Beechcraft line, we anticipate further sales in the region.”
For Jet Asia the aircraft will help serve the lucrative casino industry in Macau.which is being eyed by other business jet manufacturers
“The whole casino industry in Macau is starting to build up, and people from Japan and China are flying to Macau to use them - this is boosting business aviation in Hong Kong, and the region,” says Bombardier’s Judith Moreton.
Hawker’s orders have landed just as the company opened a new sales office in Singapore to cover Asia Pacific, Middle Eastern, Indian and African markets with Dan Keady, recently appointed regional vice president for sales, taking the helm. The new office oversees four outlying sales offices already in Beijing, Dubai, Johannesburg and Australia.
“The idea of co-locating with our service centre, Hawker Pacific is very appealing because our work supports each other,” says Sean McGeough, vice president of international sales. We believe this solution will help to expand our presence and capabilities for customers and provide the kind of service they expect from us.
