PROP APPROVAL
Hartzell Propeller has received certification for a two-bladed propeller conversion kit for the Cessna 210 and 205 series aircraft powered by the Teledyne Continental IO-470-E and IO-470-S engines. The propeller measures 210cm (82in) in diameter and is significantly lighter than the original design, says Hartzell.
SHELL EXTENSION
Shell Nigeria has extended its offshore support contract with Bristow Helicopters for a further two years ending 31 March 2008. Bristow operates two Eurocopter AS332 Super Pumas and two Sikorsky S76s for off-shore crew transport. The contract is valued at around $53 million, says Bristow.
BELL FILTERS
Bell has selected Aerospace Filtration Systems (AFS) to provide a fully integrated high-performance inlet barrier filter (IBF) system for the new Bell 429 helicopter. AFS has also been selected by AgustaWestland to develop a filter system for the A119 Koala.
TRIPLE CONTRACTS
CHC Helicopter has clinched three new contracts from Norwegian oil company Statoil to provide helicopter services from its bases in the Norwegian sea. The contracts – one for three years and two for five years – will provide offshore support and search and rescue operations using a Eurocopter AS332l2 and a Sikorsky S-92 and are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2007, says CHC.
