KAMOV GREEN LIGHT
Kamov has clinched European certification for its multi-role Ka-32A11BC twin-engined helicopter, paving the way for it to operate commercially within European Union countries. Around 17 Ka-32s have been operating under a special permit across the EU by government controlled programmes including firefighting and powerline construction. "Russian-made helicopters are a regular sight in the united European skies, but the European legislation limits their operation. This has been a barrier to our sales in the EU," says Russian Helicopters chief executive Andrei Shibitov.
YINGLING EXPANSION
US general aviation services provider Yingling Aviation has expanded its propeller maintenance and service capabilities to include props manufactured by Hartzell Propeller. This follows a $1.5 million expansion of its Wichita, Kansas-based propeller shop last year.
CESSNA OFFER
In an attempt to bolster sales of its piston single line, Cessna has introduced a "deposit amplifier" programme that adds $30,000 to a deposit on a retail order for new Cessna 182 or Turbo 182 Skylane acquired before the end of the year. The offer also includes a free service bulletin kit for either Garmin's synthetic vision technology, terrain awareness and warning systems or Jeppesen Chartview.
