Airbus has selected Colorado Springs-based Goodrich Aircraft Interior Products to develop and manufacture wall and floor-mounted cabin attendant seats and the fourth and fifth cockpit occupant seats for the A380, in a contract worth up to $40 million.
The contract covers between 18-25 seats, which will be certificated for 16g crash loading, for each A380, to be delivered from 2005.
Goodrich is already supplying the passenger evacuation system, main landing gear, flight-control systems, a variable frequency electrical power system, air data systems, exterior lighting, the cargo-handling system and pylon aft fairings, with a total value of more than $6 billion.
