Lessor LCI has taken delivery of its first Airbus Helicopters H175, which has been placed with customer CHC Scotia for operation in the North Sea.
The 7.8t rotorcraft (G-EMEB) is to be based in Aberdeen and will service the offshore oil and gas industry.
There are currently 18 H175 aircraft supporting oil and gas activities – the majority flown by Belgium's Noordzee Helikopters Vlaanderen – with an accumulated flying time exceeding 16,000h.
CHC Scotia already operates another 16-passenger H175 (G-EMEA) in Aberdeen, with the helicopter delivered in late July on lease from Milestone Aviation.
Flight Fleets Analyzer records US-headquartered CHC as having a further example of the super-medium twin on order, again via Milestone.
