Rosen Sunvisor Systems offers an alternative to original equipment manufacturers’ sun visors. Shades aside, it is also a distributor for the Mototok range of radio-controlled towbars.
Typically airframe manufactures fit an aircraft with opaque sun visors that block only a small area and reduce visibility. Rosen’s solution is simple: a larger surface area to effectively give the cockpit its very own pair of sunglasses. “Our three-axis visors offer a 99.9% UV A and B protection as well as glare protection – it’s fully adjustable and much more flexible than the standard visors,” says Byrne Elliott, director of sales and marketing.
Elliott says its Mototok towbars allow the user “to stand next to, behind, in front of, practically anywhere and control the tug”. It is remotely controlled, runs on batteries and is environmentally friendly, noise-free and is not aircraft specific.
The range of Mototok tugs is capable of towing between 8,000kg (17,600lb) and 34,000kg and, without load, has a range of 90km (56 miles) on a single charge. It has a nosewheel weight capacity of between 650kg and 2,700kg. Effectively it can move anything from a light single-engine piston to any of the mid-sized business jets on the market.
