Flight International has bolstered its defence team with the appointment as defence editor of Craig Hoyle, formerly aviation editor with Jane's Defence Weekly. Hoyle replaces Stewart Penney, who returned to industry with Aerosystems in Yeovil, UK in September. Hoyle, who has been with Jane's since 1996, brings with him a wealth of reporting experience, particularly on the UK and European defence sector. His appointment follows the promotion of Peter La Franchi to associate editor (defence). One of Canberra, Australia-based La Franchi's tasks will be to spearhead Flight International's coverage of the unmanned systems sector.
