Bruce Hughes has been promoted to president of the General Electric/Pratt & Whitney Engine Alliance, filling the seat vacated by Lloyd Thompson's move to a newly created position within GE's Aircraft Engines division. The move returns Hughes to the position he previously held from 1997 to October 1999. The Alliance is developing the GP7200 powerplant for the Airbus A380.
