Five years after Qatar Airways and engine maker IAE signed the initial contract to supply V2500 engines for the airline's growing Airbus single-aisle fleet, the airline has achieved two milestones:200,000 flying hours and 100,000 engine cycles. The V2500 powers all Qatar Airways' current Airbus A320 family of aircraft. To mark the occasion, IAE regional vice-president Peter Dunsford, presented Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar Al Baker with a plaque "…to celebrate the excellent operations reliability of the Qatar Airways V2500-powered fleet."
