Those hospitable folks at International Aero Engines (Stand A734) have made a welcoming little oasis for their customers. The consortium has converted its stand into a cosy corner bar, complete with brass fittings and beer pumps.

Communications director Justine Steel says: "We've created a relaxing resting place, away from the hurly burly where our customers can enjoy themselves while meeting us.

"We're here at the airshow purely to hook up with our customers and partners in this region."

TRW's new technologies

TRW Aeronautical Systems (Stand A432) has turned the spotlight on its advanced technologies by displaying a number of its critical development programmes.

Using experience gained from providing the world's first variable frequency electrical system on a civil jet aircraft, TRW is focusing its efforts on developing a variable frequency system for large aircraft application.

This new system is on display here at the show, together with a wide range of next generation products in the area of power generation, power management and flight controls.
