A Bell 429 demonstrator has dropped in to ILA on the first leg of a two-month tour of Europe.

The helicopter flew in from Czech capital Prague to serve a stint on static display at the show. When the event concludes, Textron subsidiary Bell plans to conduct customer demonstrations of the type, which it considers particularly well suited to emergency medical service missions.

Denmark is the 429's first port of call post-ILA. The rotorcraft will return to Germany later this month and, after customers in Austria and Switzerland have had a chance to fly it, will move to the UK for a month of demonstrations - not to mention a visit to the Farnborough air show.

The aircraft on display at ILA spent March visiting Chile, Argentina and Brazil following an appearance at Chile's FIDAE air show.

A second 429 has been performing demonstrations in Japan since late March and will continue through September.

There were demonstrations of the light twin before and after the Singapore air show in February and at several Indian locations in March.
