ILA is not the only major aviation event to relocate to a new site - the Dubai air show will switch to Jebel Ali's Dubai World Central next year.
Dubai World Central, the site of an extensive new airport for the United Arab Emirates city, will host the 13th show on 17-21 November 2013.
"The new Dubai air show site is still in development and on schedule," says show organiser F&E Aerospace. "All the foundations have been laid and they are currently inserting steel to the exhibition halls and Royal Hall."
F&E says the new site offers the ability to expand and provide greater flexibility for the flying display, which previously had to be carefully co-ordinated with airline traffic movements at Dubai International Airport.
