The dangers of the first hours training in a helicopter could be a thing of the past if a new development from German firm Heli Aviation takes off. The company has teamed with Kuka Roboter and the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybergenics to produce the Heli Trainer. The concept is a trainer that provides effective, safe and cost-efficient training to students that works as a simulator to allow realistic flight manoeuvres to be practised in an original cockpit.
