It may be home to industry behemoths Bombardier, Pratt & Whitney and CAE, but mention Quebec or Canada to many people in Europe and bears and forests spring to mind, says Invest Quebec's Kessy Wolf.
Quebec may have some of the world's most spectacular scenery but Canada's French-speaking province is also one of the centres of its sizeable aerospace industry. It has large numbers of small and medium-size enterprises and an impressive educational sector as well as its well-known names, says Wolf.
Invest Quebec is at ILA to promote the province's aerospace sector and match-make: pairing European companies with suppliers and partners on the other side of the Atlantic.
Recent successes include Dornier Seaplane, which will build the final assembly line for its Seastar amphibian aircraft in a suburb of Montreal, and Munich-based Josef Weiss Plastic Group, which last year launched a subsidiary in Trois-Rivières to manufacture plastic glazing for aircraft.
