Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel has cut the ribbon to officially open the show.

The ceremony took place in front of two flagship products of European aerospace giant EADS: an Airbus A380 double-deck widebody, in Emirates colours, and an A320 narrowbody, equipped with sharklet wing-tips.
Alongside Poland's deputy prime minister Waldemar Pawlak, the German premier toured the show site to meet leading lights of her nation's aerospace industry.
