In the wake of the Camcopter S-100's public demonstration at the ILA air show, manufacturer Schiebel (hall 7, stand 201) has presented an upgrade package for the unmanned system.
The upgrades include an external fuel tank to enhance the S-100's range and endurance, the addition of external under-slung load capability and increased electrical payload power output.
Adding an external fuel tank - an option already taken up by a US customer - makes 10h flights a possibility for the vertical take-off and landing vehicle, which can now carry up to 80kg (175lb) of external under-slung load.
Increased electrical power output widens the range of sensors that the S-100 can potentially support.
