Rogelio Gasca Neri has become chairman at Cintra, the holding company for Aeromexico and Mexicana. Gasca was already a member of Cintra's board. He replaces Luis Gutierrez Ruvalcaba, who resigned for personal and professional reasons. Gasca says he will focus on preparing Aeromexico and Mexicana for their eventual sale when the market improves.

Ato Girma Wake, who previously headed Gulf Air's cargo operation, has been named chief executive of Ethiopian Airlines. Ato Girma, who also served as regional general freight manager for DHL from 1996-8, logged 27 years with Ethiopian before his spells at DHL and Gulf Air.

Geoff Breust, former chief executive of Kendell Airlines, has become the new head of Regional Express (Rex), the carrier that wrapped Kendell and Hazelton into Australia's largest independent regional. Breust fills the vacancy left by founder Michael Jones.

Andy Tung has been made chief operating officer of Hong Kong's Dragonair in what is a newly created position at the carrier. Tung, who is the son of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region chief executive Tung Chee Hwa, joined the carrier in 2001.
