ISRAEL AND INDIA are involved in detailed negotiations over technology-transfer issues surrounding the proposed sale of the Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) Searcher unmanned air-vehicle.
The Searcher is made by IAI, and is equipped with an advanced day/night optronic payload.
The Indian air force is to buy the Harpy anti-radiation drone, also manufactured by IAI. The $50 million contract was signed in March. Indian sources say that the Harpy will be used to suppress enemy anti-aircraft systems.
