Idair is demonstrating how it can turn aircraft interiors into audio speakers through the use of small transducers attached to the rear surface of trim panels.
Specifically focusing on fittings for VIP aircraft interiors, the company is a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik AG and Panasonic Avionics.
The system is showcased on Idair's display, located on the Panasonic stand 6F15.
It demonstrates how by means of the transducers, window/side panel can become one large speaker.
Jerry Prizevoits, Idair's sales executive says: "The interior shell of the aircraft becomes a speaker and you're sitting in it."
As well as being extremely lightweight the system eliminates the need for separate woofers and tweeters and distributes an even uniform sound. In addition it is invisible to the passenger, and can be installed virtually anywhere.
