Tupolev says it expects to sign a contract with Iran "before the end of the year" for four to six Tu-204-100s with Aviadvigatel PS-90A engines. Planned delivery dates are not specified. According to Russian media reports, an Iranian delegation is expected in Moscow soon. Iranian transport minister Ahmad Khorram is quoted as saying that Iran has already held preliminary talks about taking Tu-204s. "All things being equal, these aircraft are twice as cheap as comparable Airbus or Boeing types," he says.
