Japan Airlines (JAL) will start a new nonstop service between Tokyo Narita and San Diego on 2 December.
The four-times-weekly service will be a joint business service with partner American Airlines, said JAL in a statement.
In addition to this, the airline will also boost the frequency of its Tokyo Narita-New Delhi service by adding two more per week flights on 28 October, making the route a daily service.
The airline says that it will change the aircraft deployed on the route from the current Boeing 787-8 aircraft to the larger 777-200ER to accommodate more high-yield corporate demand.
The 777-200ER will replace the 787 ib three of the seven weekly flights from October 28 to November 30, and subsequently operate all of JAL's daily Narita-New Delhi services.
