Japan Airlines (JAL) Group has posted a net profit of Y26.9 billion ($343 million) in the first quarter of FY2012, more than double the Y12.7 billion posted in the corresponding quarter last year.
The group's total operating revenue for the three months to 30 June was Y287 billion, up by 12.5% year on year, while operating expenses increased by 7.4% to Y255 billion.
Its operating income for the quarter grew by 83.1% to Y31.4 billion from Y17.1 billion in the same period last year.
For the full year to 31 March 2013, JAL forecasts an operating revenue of Y1.22 trillion, operating income of Y150 billion and net income of Y130 billion.
